Dar Al Maarif Research and Statistics launches a new survey on the harmonization of the outputs of university education for the labor market in Hadramout

Dar Al-Maarif Institute for Research and Statistics launched a new survey entitled “Harmonization of the outputs of university education for the labor market in Hadramout.” The study relied on the method of surveying data collection using a structured questionnaire prepared by experts in the Knowledge and Statistics Center for the purposes of this study, And four axes related to the subject of the study.
Commenting on the launch of the study, Dr.. Abdullah Salem bin Ghouth, Director of Research and Statistics, Dar, Professor of Community Medicine, Hadramout University
The study aims at surveying the graduates of Hadramout about the extent of their ability to adapt their labor market, particularly in determining the unemployment rate among university graduates in Hadramout, and the opinion of graduates about the suitability of university education curricula to the needs of the labor market. The ability to work in the labor market and the correlation between the graduation project for university students and the labor market and determining the suitability of university graduates to the private sector market in Hadramout.

The study concluded that the unemployment rate among graduates across the generations increased from 9% for graduates before 2010 to 22% during the years 2010-2015, and reached 45.1% among graduates between 2016 and 2018. She pointed out that only one-third of the graduates consider that the educational curricula in the universities fit the needs of the labor market, while 54% of the graduates confirm that their current work matches their specialties and explained that 60% believe that there are many specialties in the labor market. In the university does not match the ambition of some students, while about 44% of graduates consider that their graduation project benefited them at work. She also indicated that only about 37% of graduates expect their abilities to be suitable for private work
